Cosaan Seereer : Exclusive interview with Aida Mbaye (daughter of Yandé Codou Sène) - Saturday, 5th November 2016

Listen again to our live interview with Aida Mbaye, eldest daughter of the late Seereer Diva Yandé Codou Sène. Aida Mbaye was one of the backing singers of her late mother Yandé Codou and an artist in her own right. This show was first broadcast on Saturday, 5th November 2016 on the Cosaan Seereer show. A big thanks to Yandé Codou Sène and Aida Mbaye for giving us great Seereer music over the past decades, for Aida coming on the Cosaan Seereer Show to talk about the life and music career of the late Yandé Codou Sène and her own music career. Cosaan Seereer : The Opposition political march in Senegal (broadcast on 15th October 2016)

This show is a reprogramming of our regular Cosaan Seereer show which broadcast every Saturday from 14:00 pm (GMT). On this day, we were due to have the famous Senegalese drummer Omar Thiam on the show but had to cancel that interview when we found out that Omar Thiam's younger brother was one of those injured in the Friday, 14th October 2016 political march organised by the Senegalese Opposition. We wish Omar's brother and all those injured a speedy recover, and would like to assure our listeners that we will try and get Omar Thiam another day.

Listen again to our live interview with a living Seereer legend, the great Babou Ngom, Senegalese master drummer. This show was first broadcast on Saturday, 8th October 2016 on the Cosaan Seereer show. A big thanks to Babou Ngom for giving us great Seereer music over the past decades. It was a pleasure to have him on the show and listen to this great man speak about Seereer music and how it influences Senegambian music and much more.
