Setsima : Exclusive interview with Dib Ngom (Saturday, 4 May 2019)

Setsima is a new weekly chat show presented by DJ Mac (Macaire Ndiaye). Each week, DJ Mac invites a new Seereer/Senegambian personality to chat about their life and work (similar to our old Cosaan Seereer programme). This show - which is broadcast in Wolof goes out every Saturday from 17:00 to 18:00 GMT. The Seereer version of this show is Kirinene Ngueelne - which is broadcast every Saturday from 16:00 to 17:00 GMT and presented by DJ Mac. Setsima follows the same format as Kirinene Ngueelne but in Wolof.  

On this show, DJ Mac chats with Seereer elder and renowned Senegalese marabout Dib Ngom about his life and work. Dib Ngom was also a former njom (or lamb, Senegambian wrestling) sportman in his youth. Dib Ngom also touches on the history of Senegambia, Seereer history and religion e.g. the ndut rite of passage and the Xooy ceremony. The show is broadcast in Wolof. Kirinene Ngueelne is a new weekly chat show presented by DJ Mac (Macaire Ndiaye). Each week, DJ Mac invites a new Seereer/Senegambian personality to chat about their life and work (similar to our old Cosaan Seereer programme). This show - which is broadcast in Seereer goes out every Saturday from 16:00 to 17:00 GMT. You can also listen to DJ Mac on Setsima which goes out every Saturday from 17:00 - 18:00 GMT - right after Kirinene Ngueelne. Setsima is broadcast in Wolof and follows the same format as Kirinene Ngueelne.
